Position: Project Design Manager

Responsibilities:

• Stay ahead of design trends and emerging technologies to incorporate fresh and relevant ideas into projects and meet global standards.
• Manage the design processes involved in a construction project, ensuring drawings are ready on time, reviewing designs, and making them available to the appropriate people.
• Oversee all design-related matters on construction projects to ensure work runs smoothly and on schedule.
• Maintain effective communication methods between teams involved in design work throughout the project.
• Manage design consultants to ensure adherence to the construction program.
• Coordinate with the site team on design changes and ensure these changes are implemented effectively to achieve the construction program.
• Monitor design competency and efficiency to control costs and improve profit margins.
• Liaise with the site team and draftsperson to produce As-Built drawings.
• Oversee the Temp Works team on construction methodology, focusing on safety and quality.
• Ensure that design(s) meet relevant codes and engineering standards by overseeing consultants’ quality assurance procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Design Manager or in a similar role with a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and innovation.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and other relevant design tools.
• Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction techniques, and building codes and regulations.
